Certified Spa Supervisor

The International SPA Association and the ISPA Foundation recognize that with the rapid growth in the spa industry, education is extremely important in order for clients to receive a quality spa experience and for the industry to continue to thrive. To advance education, ISPA and the ISPA Foundation have developed the landmark Supervisory Skill Builders and Certified Spa Supervisor programs, which will arm supervisors with the skills needed to succeed.

The Certified Spa Supervisor program is a voluntary certification for spa supervisors and managers, from all types of spas worldwide. The certification program was developed to provide education and resources for spa supervisors who may be new to their positions, or those that are seeking additional education and recognition.

Once the Supervisory Skill Builders materials have been studied, the candidate is eligible to take the ISPA Certified Spa Supervisor exam. Individuals successfully completing the ISPA Certified Spa Supervisor exam will be:

• Able to proudly display the CSS designation on letterhead, business cards and other writings. Ex: Jane Smith, CSS
• Presented with a framed certificate of completion.
• Recognized through Pulse, the official magazine of the International SPA Association.
• Recognized in the Certified Spa Supervisor section of the ISPA Web site.
• Acknowledged at the ISPA Conference & Expo through special badge ribbons.

The CSS designation, a hallmark within the spa industry, will signify an understanding of basic supervisory skills. It also indicates a deep sense of commitment and a belief that continued education is fundamentally important in professional growth.
