The Institute of Beauty & Wellness is committed to bringing in nationally recognized educators to enhance the level of education for our students and to provide continuing educational opportunities to our past graduates.

A fee will apply to these educational opportunities if your class did not participate in the education fund. If you are not currently enrolled at IBW, a $50 fee will apply and you must RSVP to attend.. No admittance will be permitted once training has begun.

July 13 - Maureen Anlauf - Finishing/ Cutting

A multiple NAHA award winner and nominee for Hairstylist of the Year, Contemporary Classic and Fashion Forward, Maureen Anlauf believes one of a stylist’s most important tasks is to get to know their guests before formulating a look for them. Take into consideration their clothing, disposition and favorite facial feature to ensure your idea really works for their lifestyle.  “The more I know, the better it gets!” says Anlauf. A master stylist at Juut SalonSpa in St. Paul, Maureen’s extensive editorial work has been seen in publications such as Vogue, InStyle, Glamour, Martha Stewart, O Magazine, Modern Salon, Elegant Bride and more.

August 16/17 - Kurt Kueffner: Men's Cutting

Kurt Kueffner’s professional experience spans 30 years. Kurt has balanced his career between salon ownership, editorial work and global education. Since 1995 Kurt’s career has been dedicated exclusively to Men’s hair and fashion. With a background in both barbering and cosmetology, Kurt brings his own unique perspective to Modern Men’s Grooming. Kurt has published a collection of masculine cutting, consultation and business building materials. Kurt is currently developing a new men’s technical program for the Aveda network. Kurt believes that it takes excellent technique to support excellent design.

August 22/23 - Marc Zollicoffer: Chakra/Himalayan

Marc Zollicoffer has been involved with the Aveda Corporation since 1991, first as a massage therapist and then as an educator. Marc has over 15 years of experience in massage, yoga, mediation, aromatherapy, Ayurveda, and spa therapy and is a certified instructor through Deepak Chopra’s organization. His specialties include deep tissue massage, acupressure, energy work, and foot reflexology and he has additional training in craniosacral therapy, lymphatic massage, and trigger point therapy. As a Global educator for the Aveda Spa Team, Marc is responsible for creating and developing new spa body and massage treatments.

September 13/14 - Sally Rogerson- Sassoon Academy Creative Director, Los Angeles

As Creative Director at the Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, Sally trains thousands of professional stylists each year.  Sally tours the world as a much-requested platform artist sharing the latest in Sassoon looks and techniques. She was recently featured on the TV series Making the Cut on TLC, and in fashion press worldwide.

October 13 - Candy Shaw: French Cutting/Baylage

Celebrity Stylist, Candy Shaw Codner, is the head of the Jamison Shaw organizations. An internationally renown hairdresser, Candy works with as many as six assistants to personally see between 30-35 clients a day. Trained in both Europe and America, Candy has acquired a broad base of knowledge, skills and innovative ideas about training. Master of the French Technique, Candy brings an American background to this extraordinary method to help students quickly learn this revolutionary technique. In addition to her cutting skills, her knowledge of hair color is considered to be among the best in the business.  Candy has been named one of the most published stylist in North America with hundreds of images appearing in nearly 100 magazines annually. Candy has been awarded Intercoiffure’s “Award of Excellence” for her outstanding contributions to the organization and was named international “Personality of the Year” in Paris by Intercoiffure Mondial.

October 26 - Susan Ford: Men's Cutting

November 1/2 - Ruty Miles: Makeup

Rudy is a leading makeup artist, working with some of the world's most significant fashion designers and celebrities. Rudy began his career as a make-up artist at the John Casablanca's/Elite Modeling Agency in Chicago, assisting new talent in developing their portfolios, and studied Fashion Merchandising and Marketing at the International Academy of Merchandising and Design. He began his career with Aveda in 1995 at the Flatiron Environmental Lifestyle Store in New York. In 1997, Rudy joined the retail education team and began facilitating Advanced Academy makeup classes, bringing his exceptional skills to the entire network. He supports Aveda in growing its makeup business by writing and teaching professional makeup classes globally, assisting with product development and creating modern and innovative techniques for Aveda's seasonal collections.

November 15/16 - Ginger Boyle: Hair Cutting

A Midwestern native, Ginger Boyle worked in salons in the Midwest and West before moving to Montana and opening her own salon called Locksmith. From there, she went on the road as a platform artist for Aveda for over six years. Upon relocating to Los Angeles, she worked with some of the top beauty and fashion photographers in the world and opened Planet Salon, an Aveda Concept Salon, in Beverly Hills in 1996. Ms. Boyle’s work has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure, Elle, Glamour, Self, Interview and Mademoiselle. She continues to do hairstyling for print ads, videos, celebrity profiles and runway shows.
